Local history museum of Mary province has 4 branches :
1) The History museum in Turkmengala region;
2) The Literary-memorial museum of the national poet of Turkmenistan Ata Salyh in Murgap region;
3) The History museum of Bayramaly city and Bayramaly cotton oil factory;
4) The Museum of history and archaeology in Bayramaly region (manor of Guljemal Khan).
In an exposition of
the history museum in Turkmengala region located exhibits on archeology of Southern Turkmenistan and history
of the Middle Ages are placed. Among them the various stamps, glaze and stamped ceramics, carved architectural
details, bronze products, monetary units of the various period. In ethnographic section traditional Turkmen
clothes and silver ornaments, carpet and weaving products, men's crafts, weapons and many other exhibits
telling about the life of Turkmens are widely presented.The literary-memorial museum of the national poet of
Turkmenistan Ata Salih is located in Shordepe village of Murgap region. Original documents, photos,
manuscripts and other materials tell about his life and creativity.
The History Museum of Bayramaly town and Bayramaly cotton oil factory tell about the origin and industrial
development in Turkmenistan, about more than century history of one of the oldest industrial enterprises of
our country - Bayramaly cotton oil factory, and through it opens the history of Bayramaly town .
The Museum of history and archaeology in Bayramaly region is located in the historical and architecture
monument, the manor the Guljemal Khan constructed in the end of XIX century. The stamps-amulets with a graphic
ornament, cult subjects, various ornaments, graceful thin-walled ceramics of the various forms, located here,
tell about a unique civilization of a bronze age of the Ancient Margiana
