Turkmen carpets are the national pride of Turkmenistan. The unparalleled beauty and exquisite craftsmanship of Turkmen carpets captivate everyone. Our ancestors have preserved the original patterns of these carpets, which date back to ancient times, and have passed them down through generations. Turkmen women have depicted the beauty of the Turkmen steppes, the green and colorful landscapes of the mountains and plains, and their way of life through these patterns. With immense dedication, Turkmen women have elevated carpet weaving to the level of fine art. Natural role in the beauty of these carpets. Carpets woven with natural dyes never fade; instead, they become even more vibrant over time. Some of these ancestral carpets are preserved in the ethnography section of the Mary Regional Museum of History and Local Lore. Every year, on the last Sunday of May, Turkmenistan celebrates Carpet Day with grand festivities. In our region, the Ak Öý hosts exhibitions in honor of this celebration. As museum employees, we participated in the exhibition by displaying various carpets and carpet products from our museum collection, including felt mats, weaving tools, saddle bags, and sacks. Additionally, performances by cultural and artistic professionals, featuring music and theatrical presentations, added to the festivity of this wonderful event. In this era of prosperity in our country, it is essential to thoroughly study and promote our rich national heritage, which has become a source of pride and glory for our people. Preserving, safeguarding, and exhibiting museum artifacts, which represent our historical and cultural heritage, remains one of the primary responsibilities of us, the younger generation.
